about

“Whatever it is that Braining is doing, I think it can go without saying, music is being obliterated. I mean, you can hear all the instruments, you can hear the vocals – but everything is blown out. The volume is high, the songs transition into one another – without sounding like there is any distinction between them, and the anarchy of each instrument matches the anarchy of each song. As a chronic migraine sufferer, I can relate to the sound of Braining.

This is the kind of hardcore noise punk, that if you like one song, you’ll probably thoroughly enjoy the whole album. That means there is no compromise to “Peel Off the Coating.” It stays consistent to bad trash and a raw recording/playing style. If the sound of Braining were a car traveling on a road trip, it would be the one that’s neglected several oil changes, cracked windows, blown out speakers and is now moving upwards through steep mountains and crummy weather and the music still blaring a monotonous noise that speaks of the passengers own naiveté to safety and caution and only concern to reach the next party.

Of course this sound is coming all the way from St Louis – with a notorious history of gang leaders, urban housing projects, and a handful of corrupt lawyers and politicians. (What more can you expect than the clamor, blast and roar coming from the large Missourian city other than Braining?) If you’re a head-rocker and a fan of incomprehensible noise, Braining will do you and your ear(s) a good, good time.”
