about

Bob Bucko Jr.: voice, consumer electronics, midi programming, banjo (A3), guitar (B3)

Cover art: Jay Schleidt

"When Bob Bucko plays the guitar, the earth shakes beneath his feet. The catch is, on Decelebrate Bob Bucko Jr. doesn't play the guitar, at least not very often. The album instead offers seven tracks comprised mostly of electronics and the unmistakable croonings of one of the most talented individuals to stake a claim in the experimental world. Decelebrate pops and whirls through a plethora of delightful keyboard sounds playing off a wide array of emotions. The album starts cold with a reverb laden, bit powered build across a poppy beat. The tones gently progress into a warm, full room of sound accompanied by faint melancholy lyricism. It is here that Bucko displays his proficiency for toe-tappers while challenging any sort of conventional pop theme. Decelebrate demonstrates the best of the countless projects Bob has placed his fingers on (Arc Numbers, Sex Funeral, Split Pricks, the list goes on and on and on). From "Speak But Not Have Love"'s banjo hook to "Everything That Exists"'s immediate descending twinkles, Bucko has crafted such a delightful listen that it's easy to forget how moving his guitar heavy records are. Decelebrate is just another page in the book of an artist who can boast being a jack of all trades while mastering pretty much all of it."
