"It has been two years since Unsung released his first album on Already Dead Tapes, and just like 'Young Man,' his newest endeavor packs the same intellectual punch and gloomy connectiveness. Aptly titled 'An Interior History,' this new release is a fresh continuation from 'Young Man.' Each song weaves singular stories that are obviously very personal to their author.

The album is engaging from the jump, propelling the listener into his world with its jazzy/experimental/ trip-hop intro track, and then diving right into the narrative with "A Union of Palms." While each song marks a different step in the overall story, the listener is taken scene by scene through the movie that is 'An Interior History.'

Much like on 'Young Man,' Unsung takes an historical path through what it's like to become a human being and to live one's life the best they can. The grand picture of the whole thing is that we are all humans and deal with the same love, helplessness, confusion, insecurity, and joy. My personal favorite off this album is the escalating lyrical fury that is "Surveyor." This track offers a constant build of one verse set in front of a backdrop of beautiful strings, field recordings of nature, and a driving drum beat. This structure is one that can be applied to many of the tracks on this album, but each song sounds fresh in its own right. That's what makes this a truly great album.

Musically, 'An Interior History' hits on all notes. It is very much a hip-hop album, but there are tons of experimental sounds and samples that construct the background of Unsung's main character. 'An Interior History' is an abstractly interesting album from top to bottom. He has built a style that is relatable to virtually anyone—fan of hip-hop or not."
