"YMDSIH is the latest collaborative project between Already Dead superstars Jake Watkins (Dead Man’s Lifestyle) and Josh Tabbia (Cop Funeral). Following a split 7” released earlier this year, the two have combined forces to give you a beastly drone record/probable future horror movie score.

The general trend for this record seems to be some manifestation of a (usually) lower, pummeling or meditative drone, accompanied by airier, shriller tones and static ghosts. Being vaguely familiar with each artist (I play in a band with Josh, y'all), I can hear the parts where each one maintains their own identity. But what happens when they come together full force is an untamable fury that I haven’t heard either of them achieve the same way as individuals. What I’m saying is this is one hot nasty combo here.

It becomes easy to feel lost throughout this whole thing. Jake and Josh have created some densely dark atmospheres that encapsulate the listener and then morph into other dimensions as the album progresses. It’s dissociative, ominous, and at times, downright terrifying. This album was all recorded live in one go and I think there must’ve been some sort of dark energy involved. Some of my sources say this was all recorded on a single Ouija board. However it was done, the result has become some of the gnarliest Already Dead material to date and I’m hoping more will come if it."

Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is.
