about

Cassette Edition Sold Out.

"In the late 1970s an Arizona farmer named David Hudson noticed some very strange materials as he was doing some gold mining on his land. In late 2011, a young international tape label came across a strange, but similar (perhaps similar) sound of those materials over the internet. It is official (perhaps official): We (Already Dead Tapes) have rediscovered the element's to the legendary philosopher's stone – known only as Ormus. Coincidentally, the elements have come together and made a split.

The new split from GodHatesNature and Ormus is a new tape we'd like for you to add to your noisy collection before the year ends. GodHatesNature, more rhythmic and guitar-based complies well with Ormus, a visual droning soundscape. The creator of both projects uses each to bounce back and forth for different means of expression.

Ormus, being a sound project to tell a specific story with characters in mind, comes off as layering maze that is used to represent “the things people hide.” The intent was to create music that provoked thought rather than avoidance from than listener and to allow participation from the audience to reflect.

GodHatesNature is a more active and rhythmic project, which I feel tells a whole other story of time and growth. Starting meditatively, the side begins with a few ambient harmonies and rhythms and then moves slowly into a more darker and mysterious sound. This cycle moves in and out from darker to lighter tones, and also captures a few samples of blurred dialogue underneath a beautifully and architecturally awesome sound."
