GA Power is a new duo featuring Joyce Le Guin (G.A.G., wuornos) and Michael Potter (Serrater, The Electric Nature). 'Live at The Electric Factory' is two sets of unhinged, dynamic noise and electronics, performed inside a decommissioned power plant somewhere within the state of Georgia. These performances are raw, unnerving, and refreshingly devoid of pretense. Rich layers and dense atmosphere throughout. Not for the faint of heart! Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is. Some of my favourite Sonic Youth instrumentals.
